Does your workspace induce productivity or does it need serious work?

The Positivity Blog has a list of five things you can do to make your space more productive. I have mentioned a couple of ideas in the past plus it adds to them in order for you to create the right workspace for you.
The first thing to do is tidy up. I have mentioned many times about the need to declutter your area to make it more productive. Nothing can kill productivity more than a cluttered office. You cannot find the files you need, you are constantly walking over stuff, and you can misplace stuff that can lead to disaster. So clean up your work area and enjoy the benefits have having a decluttered work space.
Second idea is to change the furniture. This does not mean you go out and spend a lot of money you don't have to buy new office furniture. What it does mean is that you change it around to make it more productive. First consider the position of the desk. That window that you look out, does it inspire you or is it distracting you from getting your work down.
Also make sure that everything you need is within easy reach. If you have a file cabinet that you have to access 20 times a day it is best that you can reach it very easily. If you only go into your file cabinets occasionally you can have them father away. Make sure you put everything that you use on a regular basis within easy access to limit the number of times you have to get out of your chair and move across the room.
The next idea is to surround your self with inspiration not distraction. Instead of putting every piece of memorabilia you have on your walls or two thousand pictures of your family, find something that truly inspires you. As humans we all are inspired by different things so it is impossible for me to tell you what you should put up but find something helps give you the boost to the next level.
Next up is changing the color. Maybe it's because I have lived in apartments far too long, but I cannot stand white. Now don't go overboard with color but painting your walls a new color can give your office the extra pop.
Finally beat the clock. Do you find yourself looking at the clock too much and seeing time either go too slow or too fast? While it is important to keep track of your time you also do not want to be watching the clock every five minutes either. Consider making the clock harder to look at so you are not tempted to look at it too frequently.
Your workspace needs to help create your productivity, not distract from it.
