The Next Big Thing is Tiny: Smaller Than A Human Hair
Would you be surprised to learn that the next big thing which is expected to make up 15% of the worlds economy - some $2.6 Trillion will be less than the width of a human hair?

Hard for me to wrap my mind around the opportunity, but nano technology focuses on seeing, manipulating, and manufacturing things 1 and 100 nanometers.

FYI, a nanometer is one billionth of a meter; a human hair is roughly 100,000 nanometers wide.
By 2014, Lux estimates $2.6 trillion in manufactured goods will incorporate nanotechnology-or about 15 percent of total global output. Via Mapping the New U.S. NanoMetro Economy

The top 5 Nano Metro areas are: San Jose, CA; Boston, MA; San Francisco, CA; Oakland, CA; and Middlesex-Essexlinks, MA

Do you or anyone you know work in the nano technology area? You can read more about it here.
