How well do you prioritize your time?

Like setting goals, prioritizing time seems to be a major problem holding us back. If you set goals you know what you want to achieve but how many times do other things get in the way? Whether it is that urgent message that needs to be answered even though it is not that urgent, or the person that needs a shoulder right now.

The Blogentrepreneur has a entry with 7 tips to help you prioritize your time.

One of the suggestions they offer is the "to do" list which basically comes down to short range goals. One idea that has worked for me is to look at all the things that you need to get done and list them in priority from A to C. While C ones may be easy to do, the idea is to work only on the A items until they are all done then you move on to B and C.

Sometimes it will not be possible to work on every A before you move on to the B and C's but try to accomplish as many A's as you can before moving on. Also you will have emergencies that come up to supersede everything else. However, if you are prioritizing your time dealing with those unexpected emergencies will be much easier and you will find you have less stress on yourself.
