I saw a piece recently on a successful small business in Ocean City, Maryland: Ocean City Rentals. That would be the life – running our own business (and setting our own hours) in a beach resort town.
If it was me, I'd have to find a way to hang a sign on my door twice a day: Gone to Stand on the Boardwalk – Back in 15 Minutes. I could live off of crab cakes and she-crab soup. And once a week or so I'd have to make it out to see Assateague's wild ponies (only nine miles from Ocean City) and walk the nature trails there.
Running your own business is a great experience under any circumstance. It brings a great deal of freedom to your life and gies you control of your own future. If you can manage to do it at the beach, so much the better.
