New Bill Helps Small Business?

Rightly so, most small business owners feel that the government only cares about big business. Look at most of the bills that go through congress in a typical year and most of them either do nothing or actually harm small businesses. You add those to the ones with unintended consequences of some bills, for the most part the small business owner takes it in the shorts.
However, this past week the us senate
has passed a new law that on the face of it may help some small businesses. The bill requires that certain federal agencies with an extramural R&D budget of over $100 million allocate 2.5% of the dollars to the Small Business Innovation Research program. But as the Small Business Spark points out the bill also allows business owned by multiple venture capital firms to qualify for the program.
Will this help? We shall see...
