Myopic Management Kills Momentum

Mary from Way to Grow says in her "Satisfaction and Loyalty Aren't on the Same Scale" post
...Satisfaction and loyalty really are not on the same scale, satisfaction is all about attitude; loyalty includes behavior."
I agree that in business we need to achieve both satisfaction and loyalty to be successful.
Without a strong passion and drive it is incredibly easy to become near-sighted. Symptoms include a lack of imagination, foresight, and insight. It quickly turns into a cancer that consumes creativity, innovation, and momentum.
One way to inoculate your management from becoming myopic is to create your own 'Secret Sauce recipe for every aspect of your business." Then you can concentrate on training, testing, and implementation.
What are the areas of your business that need a new recipe? What are the missing ingredients?
