Is there a difference in the type of businesses they form?
Are they more vigorous and energetic?
In New York City, immigrants made up 36 percent the population, yet they accounted for nearly half, or 49 percent, of all self-employed workers in the city, as of 2000.
Immigrants drove all of the growth in the city's self-employed population between 1990 and 2000: the number of immigrants who were self-employed jumped 53 percent while the number of native-born people who were self-employed fell 7 percent. Via Immigrant Entrepreneurs Ignite Economy
If you are an immigrant entrepreneur, I want to hear your story. If you know an immigrant entrepreneur, help me contact them. I am writing a new book titled, "The Irrepressible Entrepreneur" and I am looking for entrepreneurs who would be willing to answer a few questions about their experience being in business.
In return they will get an autographed copy of my book when it comes out. You can reach me here.
