Well looks like Microsoft now has official competition with the announcement today that Google Apps Premier is available for $50 a year.

I have a gmail account and I use it regularly. The service is great.The best thing about gmail account is that a user can get everything he wants in one account. I would have definitely gone for this subscription package.
