Getting to a Check

Reason Number one is that you are not credible. The blog points out that venture capitalist do not bet on the product or service they bet on you. Make sure you are selling all of your credentials. If you are weak in some areas be sure to focus on other areas that will over come your weaknesses or have someone that is capable in that area.
Reason Number Two is that you do not present well. I used to get so frightened when I used to have to give talks or make presentations that I would end up stuttering. It took time but I finally overcame my problems. If you have troubles presenting I highly recommend you spend some time at Toastmasters (OK, I have to qualify that in saying I serve a Vice President's role in two Toastmaster Clubs). However, toastmasters
has helped me immensely. In November I did a major presentation to a audience and I did a good job and I have to credit Toastmasters so consider joining. They will help you have a good presentation. Reason Number Three is they don't like you. The best advice is to go in and be humble, know you have a good idea but these guys have been doing this for years so they have experience. Use all the ideas presented to show that you are going to be someone that they can work with.
Hopefully these ideas will help you get a check into your hands and that business off and running.
