Employee Attrition...

We have talked about it many times; there is some attrition that is good. Wil Schroter in his most recent blog entry points out that you need to have some attrition.
In his blog he points out that some people are not cut out to work for start ups. In much the same way working for a small business is more difficult than working for a large company because it takes more effort, you have to know more, and be more willing to go above and beyond the call of duty and some people are not willing to accept that.
Also as your company grows sometimes some employees do not grow with the company and eventually drift away. Also bringing in new blood gets new ideas flowing into the mix and the next person may be the one to take your company to the next level.
As Will points out in his blog, you do not want to sit at your desk and get rid of people. Just accept that attrition is going to happen and when it does, look at it as a new opportunity to find your next superstar.
