Are you Chasing the right trophy? That is what Rich asks in the It Takes a Village to Build a Champion Blog.

Rich competed in the International Speech Contest of Toastmasters this past Saturday but did not win the ultimate prize which he was been trying to achieve for many years especially after a 3rd place finish in 2006.

Rich's ultimate goal is to become a speaker and a coach. While I have only known Rich a short time, I know that he is an excellent speaker and can do well at it. In fact the International competition may have been a distraction for him as he has attempted to build his business over the last few months.

Sometimes we go after things that we think we really want but in the end it only distracts us from the real goal. We cannot always see that when we go for it but it becomes clear later on.

So are chasing the right trophy?
