
Forgive the pun, but it seems Clear to me that the day has passed when you could hope to run most businesses without a good Internet connection. And the need for flexibility and mobility within an office means that wireless connections now make too much sense to ignore.
I remember when everything was connected to a server with long blue Ethernet cords. I used to look around at all the cables and think, "I'm in the wrong business; I should be selling Ethernet cords…"
Wireless has developed as an essential component of office life partly because the devices that need a connection have changed and multiplied so much. It used to be that there were computers. That was it. Thirty-pound workstations more or less tied to someone's desk. Now there are palms and personal laptops, netbooks and notebooks, iPads and more. And people just pick them up and carry them around. Imagine doing that with your old workstation.
Life has changed, and wireless is here to stay…
