Retail Still Accounts For 72% Of Software Revenue
Retail Accounts for 72% of all Software Revenue
I actually found this information on a blog for gamers call Kotaku. Here is something interesting about this data that came from report of where revenue was generated. In this day of people buying software online and downloading it, 72% of the revenue comes from people actually going out and buying it.
Now one thing to note is they did combine Bricks N Mortar Stores and sites such as Amazon all in the Brinks N Mortar category. However, what it does show is that most people still rather go out and purchase the software than download it.
Most people have to still have to hold the item in their hands and take a good look at it before purchasing. This is an important thing to keep in mind when working on your marketing plan.
