How are you at doing interviews?
When you start out it may be just you running the business. But in time you will need to hiring other employees and it will be you doing the interviewing and hiring.
The Freestyle Entrepreneur has a listing of 8 things you should avoid when doing interviews.
One of the suggestions I would have for you is to think about the interviews you have had over the years. Picture the good ones and the bad ones and figure out what made one good or bad. This way you can emulate the good interviewers and avoid the pitfalls of the bad ones.
Another suggestion is to keep a list of the forbidden questions with you when you interview so you do not cross the line and get into trouble. While some of the questions may be common sense there are others you have to think about and the last thing you want to do is ask something and have the person slap you with a lawsuit.
Interviewing can be the most nerve-racking experience, but remember many of the people who come in to interview will be nervous, so remember what it felt like the first time you went on an interview and make that person know that you want them to do well.
