Advice from Mark Twain...

Idea number one seems simple enough but many of us struggle to do this and that is you must approve of yourself. As I have mentioned recently, we are often our own worst critic and unless we can create positive feedback and block the negative from dominating, we will not find the success we need.

Second, limitations may only be in your mind. This goes back to number one, but your lack of approving of yourself may put limits on you that do not exist. Your own self doubt about yourself could be one of your limiting factors.

The third one is one of my favorites and that is to lighten up and have some fun. Even running your own business can be stressful so make sure that you are able to laugh even if you have to laugh at yourself.

One of the most damaging things you can do to yourself is hold anger in and that is item number four on this list. You need to have an escape valve for your anger. Have a way to release it that is not harmful to yourself or others. If you cannot resolve the conflict directly with the person involved take a hike, walk, or bicycle a large amount of miles and release that anger.

Number 6 is something that all Entrepreneurs can relate to: If you're taking a different path prepare for reactions. Most people do not understand why someone would want to go into business for themselves. We are a different breed and many of your friends and relatives will not understand this strange and different lifestyle you want for yourself. What do you mean you walked out on your REAL job and now you're doing what?
