Advice from Ernest Hemingway

.The first peace of advice is something everyone should take into heart and that is to be a good listener. It is often said listening is one of the most neglected skills in are arsenal. It is amazing what you can learn by being a good listener. Also it shows that you care about others and not just yourself because you are willing to listen to what they have to say.
His next point is that you need to take the first step and trust. In today's world we find it difficult to put our trust in other people until they have earned our trust. However, to get ahead you need to be able to take the first step and put your trust in others. While there are some out there that will take advantage of it, they are actually not as common as some may think.
Next you need to keep your eyes on where you are going. Of course if you set goals and stick by them then you are keeping your eyes on where you are going. Remember that just because you are moving does not mean you are going forward so be sure to keep track of your progress and insure forward movement.
Failure is also on the list. Do and if you fail learn from the failure and make sure not to make the same mistake again. Failure is part of life and it part of the building block that makes us what we are.
Another lesson to be learned is finding strength in tough times. I like many others have gone through tough times in my life. While I would not want to relive them, I have found strength in what I have been through that defines me.
His final piece of his advice is also so very important and that is not to judge. We have become such a judgmental society. Yet being judgmental can also cost us in the long run as we judge people wrong or fail to notice those who could be our biggest allies.
